The 15u Henderson Metal Rep A Blacksox WIN the 15u Michigan Veterans League Playoffs

The 15u Henderson Metal Rep A Blacksox traveled to Norway, Michigan July 24 -26 to compete in the 15u MVB playoffs. The weekend provided competitive and challenging baseball. The team showed grit and resilency the entire weekend. Game 1 was against the host Norway Vikings. It was a back and forth game from first to last pitch, with 4 lead changes and all 12 players making a contribution. The blacksox headed into the last inning the bottom of the 6th down 6-4. Damian Beharriell started the rally with a one out single, then Freddy Slukynsky drew a walk and Devon Grbich hit a walk off 3 run homerun to lead the blacksox to a 7-6 win.

The second game on July 24th saw the blacksox come from behind again. Down 2-1 heading into the top of the 6th inning the blacsox scored 4 runs. Freddy Slukynsky started the 6th inning comeback with a one out bunt single, Devon Grbich doubled tying the game at 2-2, Ethan Myers then singled, Gavin Bisaillon drew a walk to load the bases, Luke Thorburn then was hit by a pitch to score the go ahead run. Then Mitch McLeod suicide bunted Ethan Myers for an insurance run and Angus Bell singled to provide 2 more insurance runs to lead the Blacksox to a 5-2 victory.

The championship on July 26 was a rematch with the host Norway Vikings. The first game saw the Blacksox lose 5-4. Game 2 of the championship the Blacksox bounced back with a 9-4 victory to capture the 2026 MVB playoffs.
