Welcome to the 2027 SMBA Competitive Stream Tryouts.
Individual coaches will announce their tryout dates soon, and you will find those along with any associated information below.
This year, as part of the Competitive Stream tryouts, SMBA has decided to partner with Rebel Baseball Institute (RBI) to provide comprehensive and objective baseline evaluations for each player. This service is included as part of the tryout fee, and should be completed by each player looking to join a Black Sox team next year, whether Rep A or Dedicated Select.
The evaluation at RBI will include a full HitTrax report for hitting, a pitching evaluation, and basic athletic measurements. This information will be shared with the appropriate coach to aid in their evaluations. Each session has room for up to 6 players, and they are scheduled in one hour slots.
Each 9U to 15U player will have received a registration link via email. If you do not have the email, and are registered to tryout for a CS team, please email mike@rebelbaseball.ca.
18U players will receive their registration link once we are ready for those evaluations.
If you have any issues with the RBI evaluations, or need to make alternate arrangements, please also contact mike@rebelbaseball.ca. Sessions will be added/moved as required.
